Hi all,

I'm hoping to collect my car from a storage facility within the next week or so. The car has been in storage for 5 months and has not been moved / started in that time. I'm just wondering what peoples opinions are on starting her up for the first time after a 5 month lay up? Apart from the obvious visual checks of the wheels / engine are there any other checks / pre start up procedures you would recomend?

Thanks in advance.

Didn't the storage facility periodically turn the engine over?

As above visual checks, tyre pressures, brake pedal pressure, fuel and away we go

Rock ard them engines. Check its got oil (no puddles underneath), fresh fuel, fire her up. She'll likely smoke a bit for a few minutes.

b'ah up until last week my car hadn't been fired up for 6 months. I let the pump whirr into action, gave it two stabs on the throttle and she rumbled into action first time
