2 Year Italian affair

Recommended Posts

Good stuff! I have very found memories of the 348. We had one from the classic car club and took it to Le Mans.  Driving back from Le Mans to Paris was the fastest I’ve ever driven on public roads and was pretty naughty in places - bloody hell it was good!!

I think the styling has aged really well, like a compact testarossa - nice one 👏

very nice!  i spent a lot of weeks trawling over F308 adverts and was very tempted. How did you find it after a couple of years ownership? The 348 takes me back to 'Outrun' arcade game :)

Classic Fezzas do look great, they ooze charisma.

I really enjoyed owning the 308, There are several versions as i am sure you know the earlier 78-80 are all Carb engines and a lot of people rave over them as they spit and splutter etc then in 81 came the 2v injected version and again in 83-85 you have the Quatrovalve 308qv version these seem to make silly money at the moment, My car was the 2v injected version which everyone sees as the least desirable (much like everyone said about the 2.7 911) but I disagree as it is easy to look after and maintain, My car was 100% reliable but then I went right through it and got it to how I wanted it so I did not care what anyone thought, They are not fast compared to a lot of cars but then how many cars look as good as a 308 ! Suspension can be fun as everything is shimmed so you need to be careful and make a note of how many shims come from what part, Once I rebuilt all of the suspension (I polybushed mine) I took it to Mathew at Giallo cars in Tonbridge and he did the digital 4 wheel alignment after that the car was a real joy to drive. Every time you take a Ferrari out it is an occasion it's no ordinary drive. .The new owner loves the car and he often sends me a message to say how well the car is set up and he is enjoying it so I am pleased that he is also enjoying the car. The 348 has less charisma that the 308 but it still has a lot of Kudos on the road, I have been tinkering and doing a few little bits here and there, It's part of the fun of owning one.  Just as a foot note I still love the 2.7 911 especially a 77 2.7 LUX , The narrow arches and chrome trim I love, My mate had a 77 Bahama Yellow one back in the 80's boy would I love to buy that car now If anyone on here owns a 2.7 Lux let me know.
