Recommended Posts

Hoping to do a wee trip soon. Wondered what you seasoned IB travellers class as essential travel gear/tools/nice to have's? 5 days. Probably a 2k mile trip.

I'll kick it off

1. Credit card and a pair of spare boxers tick.

What Chris says but with the below:

Spare fan belt (with tools to change)

Spark plugs (with tools to change)

Spare rotor arm (used/old one)

DME

Latex gloves

Old sheet/towel if needing to lay on the floor

Never needed any other than a top up of oil.

Just the sensible basics as above but in general terms just travel light.

Fuel is not as available as you might think that far North West, and where you do find it quite often it's office hours only / no chance at all during the night so perhaps add a spare fuel can or at least have a full tank before leaving Glasgow area / trunk routes.

You'll probably be fine for fuel given the size of 911 fuel tanks.  Just fill up when you get the chances to.

I would take at least 2 or 3 microfibre cloths for detailing.  They'll soon get used!

Top up your screen wash before you leave.

Take a tyre pump if you have one?

Sun cream if you have a sunroof (I've fallen foul of that before!!)

GoPro or similar if you want to take some footage, but more importantly a good camera to capture some of the scenery and obligatory car shots!!  I wish i'd taken more last year

:)
