Went to local Sunday car show about a month ago and was approached by Dan Sherwood who is the photographer for most car mags asking if I wanted to do a photo shoot of my car as he was here to do one of an Escort 1300E, so I said yes and it’s in this months Classic Porsche mag

Nice!

Will they send you a print if you ask?

I asked and he wants to charge £200 for the whole picture shoot

That's a little mean. He will have been paid by the mag for the shoot. I got a CD with images on when the mk1 golf was featured in performance vw mag.

Ridiculous. I have been lucky enough to have had my car photographed three times, one for a magazine piece (written by our own Sheriff), one for a photographer that wanted pictures for classic insurance magazine adverts and one by an artist to turns car shoots into modern art pieces. The first two I was given digital copies of all the shots (original hi res) and for the last one copies of the final art works. Send him a bill and a solicitors letter stating he no longer has the right to use the images of your car.

That is a bit low, but doesn't surprise me.  Having said that if you asked for a print, there will be a cost involved in its production.

I would have expected a handful of digital copies FOC though.

Did you give them permission for commercial use of the photograph of your car without asking for anything (prints) in return?

It's very shoddy behaviour, you would have at least expected the hi res digital originals.

I'm guessing nobody on this forum will be letting Dan Sherwood take photo of their cars in the future.

Lovely looking car, I like the clear indicators, doing the same with mine as it gives a cleaner front end. Have you tried the silvered indicator bulbs to prevent the egg yolk look of the original Amber bulb.
