Flag mirror glass removal

I’m selling a pair of flag mirrors on here and have just been asked if the motors are working.  As there are no wires protruding to enable a test I need to remove the glass to allow access.  The Bentley manual suggests using a screwdriver in the access hole at the bottom to undo a plastic lock ring by turning it anti-clockwise.  I’ve done this but the glass in both a mirror has not come loose.  Any top tips for this?  Thank you

Having had trouble with one of my flag mirrors over the years, my experience is that the glass is a push fit via four "door trim" style expanding clips. I use a plastic spatula to prise the glass out of its seatings. Are your flag mirrors a later version?

Thanks Robin, appreciate the reply. The mirrors are of 1986 manufacture so I don’t know if that means they are early or late?

Cancel, I’ve just applied a bit more pressure and they have both come off.  They are plastic lock rings, not some other form of clip and were just a bit stiff.  Thank you again
