Synthetic Oil Concerns

I put in mine what Porsche urrently recommend mobil 1 ,0-40 which is £19 from costco and when it goes bang i will get it rebuilt for 250 + bhp .

 

In other words i stick oil in thats recommended and dont worry about it

I'm sticking with Magnatec, but it is food for thought don't you think?

The protection afforded by PROPER full synthetic oils (Magnatec is a mineral oil - forget the synthetic technology blurb - it means nothing) should provide reasonable peace of mind IMHO.

Interesting Mr P using 0-40 Mobil 1, and it only costs 19 quid.

I thought the older engines were supposed to leak if you use too fine a grade of oil?

 

I use Silkolene Pro S 10-50 (ester based fully synthetic) in the race car, and change it after every 10 hours of track time
