I don’t understand what problem drive by wire solves on classic cars? I get that on a modern car it helps with emissions and simplifies idle speed management but on an older car it just seems like excessive technology. EFiI - yes. DbW - why?

I thought it seemed a neat idea for an older car and guess the throttle response is much better, more instantaneous

There’s no time lag in a mechanical linkage?
