Engine fan deterioration

When I had my engine rebuilt in 2020 the fan and housing were refurbished by Greatworth Classics.  It looked great but after a couple years white spots started to appear on the leading edges of the fan and a couple of parts of the housing, which I assumed to be some form of corrosion.  I wasn’t sure of what to try but remembered I had some ACF 50, which is popular with motorcyclists in reducing corrosion on exposed metal parts.  I’ve wiped it over a couple of times n the last year and it seems to be working, no more white.  Thought the collective might be interested.
