Hi all

i just purchased a sealey vs820 pressure brake bleeding kit to bleed a new and empty system

on pressurising the system or trying too it blows fluid out of the reservoir overflow

should I block the overflow or am I missing something

it makes sense it would blow out through the overflow but nowhere does it mention any overflows in the manual

the resevoir is new as is the whole brake system

regards Keith

You have to block the overflow.

Phil beat me to it!

Hi Keith,

Yes you need to block off the overflow.

Phil

Ps you should have a flexible pipe fitted to the reservoir overflow that is connected to a metal drain tube/pipe, that exits under the near side wheel arch close to the washer tank…

Yes, crimp the hose and go no more than 5 psi

Thanks for all your same replies

it’s fairly obvious that the pressure would not hold with an overflow open tube, I should have realised that ,

I’ll blank it off and keep the pressures low

i have 2 bleed valves on each caliper so will bleed from the outside first

Got 6 pot calipers front , 4 pot rears

cheers
