Drivers Door harness

Recommended Posts

Hi All
I need a bit of advice. In the cars life before my ownership, someone has hacked at the window switch wiring. They have all sorts of colour wired that don't align with anything resembling factory.
Now that i have a to replace the drivers door lock, which results in having to take the wjndow frame off to so. So i figure now is the time to replace the harness.
Ive been searching for a how to guide on how to replace thr drivers door harness that passes through thr door, but can't seem to find anything on a DIY guide.
Anyone done it?

TIA

IIRC, it runs out of the front edge of the door and upwards, and there is a connector but you need to remove the front wing to access it.

Unless the wing is coming off already, I would be inclined to repair your existing loom (with the correct colours) from inside the door.

I see. I've been hunting around the Internet to see how it is routed with this new info, I can't seem to see.

The car is going for a respray in the winter, so I'll get it swapped out then. In the mean time, I need to try and figure out what goes where. The driver window switch seems to be working fine, it's just the passenger side switch which seems to be incorrectly plugged, as it blew a fuse when I went to use it.
