While trying to overcome the challenging triangle of death on  a 3.2 engine sans partial drop, an alcohol wipe accidentally entered the crankcase breather opening. Employing an endoscope, I've successfully pinpointed the item resting at the bottom of the crankcase. Any suggestions on retrieving it? I'm inclined to believe leaving it there isn't advisable. Grateful for any constructive advice.

As Chris says, I’ve got one of those triple claw flexi devices, very useful. Another Heath Robinson device would be a thin plastic windscreen washer tube with a couple of bards fixed to the end (straightened out fish hooks)?…..go fishing! One thing not to do is leave it in there$$§€***…good luck!

If its any consolation been there done that with R50 engine. If you can`t  get to it using the hooks , a alternative would be to make a suction hose, using a old piece of garden tubing , and compressed air .As David said, don`t leave it in there.

Finally, it's time for an update. Life threw some curveballs, causing me to shelve the project temporarily. However, last weekend, I managed to carve out some time to tackle it. After experimenting with various methods, I found success using a straightened fish hook attached to an endoscope, with the barb on the hook proving to be the real game-changer. It was a bit risky, but all the safer approaches fell short. Additionally, I took the opportunity to tidy up the engine bay and install a new insulation pad. It was a bit tricky without partially dropping the engine, but definitely achievable. With everything now sorted, she's all set and ready to roll. Big thanks to everyone for their assistance throughout this process.

Been on the edge of my seat for the last month! 🤣

Well done, that’s got to be a relief!
