Fit was poor and it was fairly flimsy compared to the EB one. As I'm having my car painted it made sense to change it.

Are you selling the old one?

If it's a write-off then I'll take it off your hands for nothing Beaky 👍 😉

Right Gary, the new one is fitted and the old one in my garage in the box the new one came in.

If you want it are you going to collect as I'm in North London.

Thanks Beaky, but much like Kathmandu unfortunately I'm currently in a situation called NoCanDo so looks like it's the tip for your old ducktail.

Xris, how did the body shop get on with fitment? My bodyshop have now started work and are really not impressed with the quality and consistency of some areas of the duck. Wondering if mine was an aberration that I need to go back to EB about.

A bit of a mixed bag really. The quality and thickness of the fiberglass was good, but the fitting could be better.

The issue maybe that as our cars were all hand built they can vary a few mm here and there and getting them to fit perfectly not so easy.

I think perhaps a fiberglass specialist garage would be able to add/subtract fiberglass layers so they fit better.

Mines not perfect but its good enough for me.

When I bought my ducktail (admittedly second hand) I spent a lot of hours adding and subtracting fibreglass to get the gaps good. As Beaky says, all the cars are little bit different.

Its not the fit that they are not happy with (they have yet to try that in earnest so no doubt theu will have those issues too),its the quality - incosisten thickness in some areas and some odd lines and shapes here and there.

As we have discussed Les, call EB and discuss a replacement.

Yeah Les, do as you are told

A few years back I sold this Getty Design ducktail to Fraser @Dr Rock :

It appeared to be designed specifically for the Impactbumper/G series cars (i.e. accepted the later plastic grille) and looked like it was made for a road car rather than the "motorsport" inspired offerings that most others were selling at the time.

No idea how it compared to the recently made EB ducks but for £620 (+VAT?) I expected better!
