I took my sons to the hot rod racing on Pendine Sands today. I thought I’d share a few pics. It’s a mega event. Park on the beach and watch them tear up the track.  Loads of cool cars in the parking area too.

Yes, that’s a speedster that was once a boxster and a 2CV with a wooden streamliner body.

The event is in tomorrow too. Definitely worth a visit.

Looks like great fun!
Stand outs for me are the blue and cream Chevy and that awesome red COE. One day I will own some yank metal.
What is that Citroen?!?

How often does it happen?

It’s the vintage hot rod association annual event. They have a second one at Bicester heritage in August.

I feel the same, I’d love a ratty one of those chopped ford coupes 😍

Blast! I was there yesterday too - sorry I missed you Lewis! @Northy

Ah bugger! It was great wasn’t it! Next year I’d like a pit pass, to hang out with the cool kids.

We have just looked at tickets and pit passes. Believe it or not you have to be a member to get a pit pass and to be a member you have to have a pre 1950 hot rod! I think the biggest challenge will be getting accommodation anywhere nearby

But otherwise free to spectate.

There was a really good turnout this year (3rd year for me).

For interest the VHRA is also doing a 'VHRA Throttle' event at Bicester on August 25th.
