I had what was an intermittent problem with my drivers door. When I looked it it seems a part of the internal mechanism isn’t returning properly which then means the door can’t be opened from outside. 🤷‍♂️ With the window down I can flick this back with a screwdriver and the door will open but obviously this isn’t the solution. I took the door card off today to take a look and couldn’t see anything obviously wrong. When I’ve reassembled the door it now won’t lock at all with the key and can only be locked from inside using the wheel which is very stiff. Any ideas where to start with this 🤷‍♂️

Take a look at a posting of mine from the 8th of March this year under Door Lock Maintenance. Don't know how to forward it to you, but it's on this site somewhere. Anyway, I was having locking problems myself, and cured it by stripping down and freeing up the "wheel" mechanism, which was really stiff, and the cause of my problem.

Yes I read your thread but I don’t think that’s my problem. I disconnected the rod attached to the wheel and the wheel turns pretty freely.

OK, well good luck sorting it out. Must admit the door locking gubbings is a bit of a fearsome looking area, I was relieved my fix didn't mean I had to mess with it.

Disconnected the door lock actuator (?) this time and the wheel was still difficult to turn. Actuator will work ok but won’t lock the door as the mechanism is so stiff. I can turn the lock wheel on the inside by hand with the door shut but can’t lock it with the key. I think I might try to remove the lock next time, do I need to remove the window frame to do this? Look like It 👍
