AT Power ITBs vs Jenvey?

Recommended Posts

Love the look of the Jenvey ITBs

they got that classic carb look , I suspect the AT power ones produce more power though?

They look more "Engineer designed in CAD" though.... not really a great classic look

For me, I would want something that looked the least like carbs as possible. Personally, I think the Jenveys are ugly, they look heavy and old fashioned. An upgrade should look like what it is, the ATs are much much nicer. Of course, when spending the money you should also go for most bang for buck.

After having my car with ITB's I would always want to add them to any build.

Id go Jenvey because of the classic look and also because of parts availability. The parts available for manifolds, linkage, truppets and filters is very widely available.

You can still buy Webers if you wanted to go carbs.

the jenveys that look like carbs fit on carb style manifolds so both outerbores are of center to the valves.and attract porsche tax.

you can still get the single style and they all have a straight shot at the valve and are a lot cheaper.

at bodies have a lot of little screws and bits and look to modern for me and i have yet to see a porsche with air filters on rather than t strainers

mine have been great no messing since fitted about 2yrs ago

i can’t see the t strainers catching all the dirt going in the engine, the foam filters on the jenveys have a lot bigger surface area

but then i am biased

I agree, from my experience the Jenveys have been fantastic and produce plenty of power. I also had a set of AT Power ITBs, but do to a change of plan they were never run by me and therefore cannot comment on performance. Although the carb like ones are more period I don’t think they produce more power and are considerably more expensive.

  • 4 weeks later...

I do like the look of the Jenvey setup 😎

Adapt Motorsport, island Works, AT Power all have the injector at the port... except Jenvey.

I would be very interested to see a performance comparison of the injector position, port vs Jenvey 80mm+ back up the inlet tract on a 911 engine.

Maybe no noticeable difference on a street car but probably quite a difference for the Jenvey position in a track setup, giving more scope for improved fuel atomisation at higher rpm... maybe?.
