Ok, I’ve just received a new lead acid battery, a Yuasa, which will do the job for now.  Feels quite retro all of that weight! The other thing that I’ve not been used to for a while is dealing with a breather for the battery. I was reminded of this when unpacking the new battery and having to remove a travel plug from the vent.  There was a small amount of pressure released and also a small quantity of acid.  My car didn’t have any vent arrangement to ensure the acid doesn’t just go into the body and create rust.  I don’t see anything on PET for the SC nor the 3.2.  Can anyone clarify whether something is available.  Thank you

I would just run a hose out with the tank overflow (if you still have it!)

Search battery vent tube on ebay or Amazon, they’re available including the small plastic elbow that pushes into the breather hole in the battery casing.
