I’m thinking about tiling (not ceramic, plastic of some sort)my garage floor.  I painted it with two pack paint over 8 years ago and to be fair it has lasted quite well., apart from a few small areas where three must have been some deep contamination in the concrete and it has lifted.  Anyway, I’m thinking about tiles but wonder which ones are robust enough to take a car sitting there much of the time with indenting and also take jacks, axle stands etc.  Recommendations gratefully received, thank you

I bought the same as Graham 911Hillclimber on DDK.  Still trying to find details for you

I went with Tuff Tiles on the recommendation of a car mechanic who uses them - lifetime warranty to boot! Easy to lay if a bit more expensive than some. They have a 10% discount at the moment https://tuff-tile.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Tuff Tile - Search - UK *FG*&utm_term=keyword&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22207409665&gbraid=0AAAAABLMprKiu_7Yoy_x6gDyl4jw6nPMj&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrduzzMm-jQMV7phQBh29rCDkEAAYASAAEgIu9fD_BwE

Thanks Peter, appreciated.  How is it lasting, would you recommend/buy again?

Had a couple distort after they got petrol spilled on them but other than that good.  I would use again, unless I went with resin flooring.

I went with light grey.  They do get stained during use, so I just wash them down once a year with cellulose thinners and they come up great.

when choosing my tiles I thought about pattern - the trolley jack must roll freely and no crevices for cr4p to get stuck in.

They look good but, as Peter says, aren’t they going to fill up with dirt, nuts, washer, bolts, oil etc etc?

Thank you for the useful replies. I’m surprised that flooring for garages stains to be honest, you would expect it to be impervious.  But if it cleans as easily as you suggest Peter I guess it’s ok.  Did you buy smooth tiles?  I ask because of your comments about crevices for dirt etc?

It’s maybe less staining, more just getting grubby over time. Mine did get a fine coating of black paint when I painted son-in-law’s motorbike, with cleary insufficient masking of the garage.  Celly thinners needed and sore knees as a by-product of the cleanup.

I have just done garage floor with bigdug tiles rubber hard plastic material and 12mm thick they just knock together with rubber mallet and available in black or grey and either chequer plate pattern or round bumps.

first impression they are really good and no gaps for trapping dirt in

Why not non-slip porcelain tiles, use a few rubber tile or plywood when jacking up or with axle stands

With black grout you'd be able to keep the floor looking spotless

This us what I'll use on my floor, Dotti D9 anti-slip workshop/garage tiles

Thank you.  I don’t think my garage flooring stains is flat/smooth enough for the ceramic tiles, although they seem a nice option.  The more you get into this the more complex it becomes.  I’m tempted by grey as it’s lighter and doesn’t absorb available light as much as black, but a textured or dimpled surface will trap dirt in some way, requiring more cleaning.  Choices, choices

I put these tiles down in my garage and workshop in 2017, all good still after plenty of jacking, spills etc. In recent years I've also used my scissor lift on them without any issues. One thing to watch out for it when you park a lowered 911 with a hot engine the tiles underneath expand and rise up in a hump directly below - I just leave a piece of hardboard under as a precaution. I went for the embossed tiles.

Thank you, appreciate the feedback and the point about heat, one more thing to consider.  Did you go for the 5 or 7mm tiles?

@Beaky I’m really happy with them, first time using this sort of garage flooring always been just painted concrete floor. So it’s good to hear yours have been down for a couple of years with no issues 👍🏻
