Nige's looks darker, but I stand corrected.... it's only the second one in this colour

Yup same as mine, in certain lights it can often appear much darker, almost black.

Think we have about 4-5 here in the same colour.

Very nice colour.

Thanks Phil. It's Marine Blue. In some lights it can look a purple/blue but in others its a grey/blue. Absolutely love the car!

Greetings. I'm David from North London, just joined IB.  This is my eighth 911, but my first IB.  In 1997 I had a 993 cab but it was tip and I didn't like it, and since then several others, my last being a 991 GTS Cab.  I bought this one a few months ago in Preston. Its a 1985, I paid £28k and spent £6k on heat exchangers and bits mostly engine work. She's done 118k miles, had 20 owners but I love the colours, (the interior is Burgundy & v light grey) and Jaz has her running perfectly. I have every service bill and MOT from new and a full glass out respray done in 2017 for good bodywork.  She's not perfect but runs beautifully and gets some nice attention.  I have a slightly warped dash I would like to correct, but don't fancy a big glass out job.  Recover? any ideas?  Also has anyone here flared their arches to widebody with any success and is it a big job?

I don't think you can flare the arches to widebody - flaring is done so that you can fit wider tyres. If you want wide body look you will have to have wide arches fitted.

I should have posted here ...

I joined the other day after finding that there were quality threads on many of the issues of interest to me.

My car is an '88 Carrera 3.2 with 89,000 miles/146,000kms, Australian delivered with many of the usual options, with the nice inclusion of factory sports seats. No rust or leaks anywhere and a recent top end refresh and new clutch have just been done.  Goes well, but going through all the systems and components now just to be sure. Recently sold my '68 2.0L SWB and had the hankering for another 911.  My other car is a 1962 Australian delivered 356BT6.

Looking forward to sharing information with the knowledgeable members here!

Ex 3.2 owner saying hello. Still miss the old girl and wondered if anyone on here had it?

Black LHD '89, originally a Swiss import but registered in the UK on F515OUD. Was a stunner, only around 65k on the clock when I sold it around 2006 (for £13k!!!!!!!!)

Hello all.

1988 3.2 G50 here.

Lot’s to do to get it back on the road - first is an engine drop I did this weekend ready for a jolly good clean, a new starter, new clutch and a proper service inc valve gaps.

Need some new tinware too as the front transmission side pieces are rotted through.  Any recommendations for things to do while the engine is out?

Going to renew the bushes on the ARB while that’s off....do people go for stock OEM or are polywatsies the way forward?

Cheers and thx to all those of you who have contributed to the threads I’ve been getting advice from!

Wish I knew you in 2006 - looks like the perfect car for me and I’d have given you £14k!

Picked up this Carrera Sport 1988 from Williams Crawford. They are a very good Porsche specialist and I highly recommend them. I drove the car 525 miles back to Edinburgh and it was a great car do do these miles in.

I will be doing a few winter projects and getting the paintwork up to scratch. Seems to be mechanically sound and hasn't used a drop of oil in 600 miles.

Hello All,

I am from Thailand and Porsche enthusiast. I am lucky enough to own and drive a few Porsche cars.
Recently I just acquired 1988 Club Sport RHD and this is my first classic 911.

I truly enjoy driving it hard with a manual and I feel very connected to this car. I am new to this classic Porsche so I really hope to learn more from this forum, I do love DIY. Now, I am just a happy guy who just feel in love with a classic 911 and want to share some pics with you (might be a bit heavy)

Cheer!
