Hello,

I just got back behind the wheel of a 3.2 Carrera again and I thought I'd introduce myself to the rest of the crew. The car is a 1989 Carrera Cab, Black over Champagne, with 80k miles. My first Porsche (back in '96) was a '87 Targa, and I've had '87 and '88 Coupes as well. I've had newer 911s but I always come back to the 3.2. I guess I don't need to explain why to you guys. Anyway, great forum. :)

Hi everyone

After 35 long years lusting after a 911 I've finally realised a childhood dream that 1 week in is certainly living up to expectations. Hope you enjoy the photos. I look forward to exchanges on the site.

Cheers - Simon :yahoo:

Hello,

New (again) to the forum. I hope that my old girl will look as gorgeous as some of the pictures posted one day. Due to other commitments, kids, house, etc, etc, have not really been able to invest in her. Plan some TLC in the next 2 years, beginning with gearbox (2nd baulks from time to time), re-spray and interior. Have owned her for 10 years, she being a black 3.2 Targa from '84. Have mixed DIY with professional care over the years, PRS have looked after her most recently. Get your timing right and they are bound to have something quite exquisite lurking around their yard.

Just rebuilt the Targa top. Looks OK, not perfect, but OK. Getting it back on with new seals, well, I have refound dormant muscles and developed some new expletives! Will get her off to Southbound and get it all done properly when I have the interior sorted.

My better half views the car as shipwrecked characters in old cartoons viewed each other, except that it morphs into a pile of white goods, carpets, etc rather than a sumptuous meal. My wife doesn't 'get' cars.

Hope to get her MOT'd tomorrow, the car not the wife, and then she'll be ready for the run to Le Mans.

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.

Kevin

If it is not grinding then just change the shift link bushes and readjust, should sort it.

Good job ;)

Thanks for the advice, will give it a try. The old girl breezed her MOT, is now taxed and has been scampering around the local roads in the sunshine. Luvverly. Now for a bit of spit and polish so she looks pretty for Le Mans.

Hi,

A small introduction from a 3,2 owner from Sweden. Have a white one, from 1984 that I use mainly on the track these days. Both here in Sweden and a couple of times on the ring every season. Very much a stock car besides 26mm bars, clubsport rennen, yellow pagids, roll bar, recaro seats.

This will be a fun forum to hang around.

Hello from Johannesburg

I recently (about 6 months ago) bought my first Porsche, it's an '88 Carrera Targa. After being obsessed with all things Italian for all of my car/bike owning life i finally buckled and bought a Porsche and i can tell you i am properly upset with myself for not seeing the light sooner! I shopped around for quite some time originally wanting an SC but stumbled upon the Carrera, its got a FSH for all of it 144k miles and is in really really good nick. Here are a few pics.

just discovered this wonderful little site through a member on Pelican (kiwiokie), and I signed up immediately!

I just bought this '85 RoW and this picture was taken on the journey home and it was utterly brilliant. This is my first 911, and I fell in love with IB's as this was my first recollection of what a Porsche should be. I will be removing the Turbo tail this winter in favor of a steelie-framed duck..
