Hi and welcome! :) its always best to buy on condition rather than colour. It looks nice.

Jamie

It's the most recent 911 I've owned, by about 13 years.

Although an Ice Green metallic 2.7 Carrera I owned previously is for sale, I couldn't afford to buy it back, so decided on a later car.

As far as I can see this 'brown' car has had no paint at all and I have all the MOTs, even those for when it was in Ireland.

Now I just need to get it here and get using it.

Sounds like a good purchase. Will be good to get it home and plenty of miles on it. Enjoy! :)

After a search lasting almost a year, I've bought an original 3.2 Sport 1988.

You may not like the colour, nougat, but in the end I decided I liked the car enough to learn to live with it!

Car isn't home yet, but here's the first picture. I'm recent on here, so hope I've managed to upload ok.

I like it, and it's not boring red, white or black !!!

Superb colour, dont think it will take much learning to love!

Sport seats too, result!

When does it arrive?

Thanks for all the positive comments.

Should be in my garage by end of the week, but if there's no salt on the roads I'll be out in it next weekend.

Its total mileage fron new is only 65000, but I think the annual average might be due for a big increase.

Can't wait - flying down to Portland, Oregon on Monday to pick up a 1988 911 Targa - quite fitting I think for Valentine's day!

Will have car back in Alberta, Canada safe and sound by Tuesday - just hoping for not too much snow on the way back. Nothing like a 1,000 mile adventure in a new (old) car!

Have been looking for the perfect 911 for some time - this one isn't it - but decided I wanted one with 'patina' I believe is the word I have seen used here. Will get some pics up tomorrow and take a few on the way home.

This is the new car.:rolleyes:

Nice! A white targa was on my wanted list when I was looking last year

Car is home here now. A long drive home in torrential rain did prove that all the essentials work well.

a good start to ownership! Glad the trip home went well and enjoy the new toy! :)

how was the drive? :)

Mostly using motorway because of both time and bad weather. The surprise to me was how much easier the 3.2 is to drive than my earlier 911's. My previous latest was the 2.7 Carrera in metallic green which is now two owners on and for sale at a huge price in Kent!

Once I got into the traffic at the southern part of the M1 the lighter clutch and brakes were great. I may regret selling the 2.7, but I'm getting ancient now, so I intend to use this as much as I can while I can.

Hi everyone! My first car was a Beetle, I then went on to buy another Beetle then a Camper and since the beginning of March 2011 I've been the owner of this 1985 911 Carrera and I love it! She seems pretty sound, I've ordered a restrictor for the oil breather, a jacking point cap and 2 new rear speakers other than that she's ready for summer :)

Here's a pic of her...

Looks great, I think there are quite a few of us with an aircooled past here.

Hi all, had my new 911 3.2 targa for about a week now, bought her with a couple of known issues which reflected in the price.

Im dying to get her out on the road but want her 100% before i do. Jobs ive got to do are rear main oil seal and there is a noise coming from the rear when you let off the power, sounds like driveshaft ( i hope )

Other than that the car is absolutely stunning condition and looks like it has never been out in wet weather in its life!,

I was going to get a specialist to do the oil seal but changed my mind when they said "if the engine comes out its going to be 4 figures" which baffled me as there labour rate was £59 hour ..... well anyway i started dropping the engine out today never having ever worked on a 911 and had it out in 3 hours, i must say what an easy job !, great design.

Going to remove the gearbox tomorrow and install the new seal. Next dilemma will be what oil to put in it !, reading different forums i see this is quite a subject in constant debate !. Surprised that the Manual recommends 20/50 sounds a bit thick to me...
