Lovely car Bryan! What Pirelli's have you got on there?

Thanks Dragon and Madaza.

P6000's. A new set was on the car when I bought it. I'm sure there are better tyres around but when it comes with a new set I'll make use of them for a couple of years.

Hello,

Now the proud owner of a 1987 3.2 Carrera Targa Sport in Guards Red. Colour looks odd in some of the photos (if you follow through to my flickr site), but it is perfect in the flesh.

Going to be used as my every day car, so expect regular postings asking for help on various topics...

Hi,

Had my 3.2 for just over 3 years now and loved every minute, all barring the ones when there's a bill to pay. No IB's I'm afraid but it's how it was when it originally came over from Germany in '97.

Briefly, it has the 964 bumpers etc, 17" cup 1's and is sitting low enough to not get any tyre to arch contact, courtesy of a turbo rear torsion bar. It's had a top end rebuild done back in Feb 06, along with a new clutch and new synchro's in the 915 box for 2nd & 3rd gears. Also replaced the sliding selector sleeve aswell. The engine was very sweet prior to this, and the reason for doing was due to a couple of broken head studs. So did the right thing and put the heavy duty dilivar ones in along with the piston rings, valves regrinding and re-seating, oil pipes etc - you know the score.........

Apart from the usual service items, to name but a few, I've had all 4 CV joints replaced after one self distructed and also replaced both crankshaft sensors after one failed. Next on the list is fitting a replacement S/S pre silencer which is sat in the garage. Hopefully this will compliment the S/S sports rear box which does chuck the odd flame out now and again. And after that I'm fitting a 964 engine lid in place of the de-spoilered lid that's on it at the mo. I'm actually on the hunt for an engine lid grill for a mate at the moment and they seem as common as hen's teeth.

I live in what many refer to as God's country, North Yorkshire, where good hooning roads are a plenty. My lad is never far away when something car related is going on so if we ever meet, he'll be the one who knows more about cars than you ;)

I've done a few track days so far and love it, mostly at Croft and one at Silverstone on the full GP circuit and it still looks like this.............

Prayin' I haven't bored you with my first post and hope I'll fit in around here.

Nice looking car C2Look,

Welcome to the IB forum.

My car hasn't got Impact Bumpers either, but nobody's held that against me yet. :D

Cheers S34.

I fitted the pre silencer at the weekend after removing the old one on Thursday night. Not exactly a quick job to do single handed and without a trolley jack but got there in the end.

I guess it's time to say hello! I just stumbled across the sight and thought it imperative to join as I too am an IB junkie! My '86 Targa definitely qualifies me to say hello here in the Carrera 3.2 area, so hello all!

Hi I just found this site. I am orginally from the UK but have been living in Atlanta GA for a few years. I have finally bought an IB a 1984 ROW 911 cab with 80k miles from a friend. Its stock other than SSI's and a Danske exhaust. Over the next few months I am planning to replace the Danske (with MK if its worth it?) and add a SW chip. Car seems very quick over 4k but a little slugish underneath.

Greetings from Atlanta Georgia USA. Currently enjoying a bit of cool weather for August, down into the mid 80's. Perfect weather for a romp through some of the best mountain roads in the country up in the mountains of North Georgia. The 87 coupe is washed waxed polished and looking good. Such a great car those boys from across the pond engineered and constructed that even after 20 years few cars match the sound and feel.

Glad I found this site and I look forward to keeping abreast of the rest of the world.

Jeff do you ever drive the 180 near Blairsville. Its a great road and really suits a 911. I go there very early some weekends from Atlanta so I can blast up the 400 before the radar traps come out.

That is a nice ride as are a number of other roads up there. I have not been in a while due to family commitments, and I miss it dearly.

Hello!

I've been a member for a while, but only recently got another IB. It's a 1989 Baltic Blue Targa sport with 57k on the clock, that's been despoilered. It's my 3rd 911, after a 930 and a 964, and is my favourite of the 3.

The settings not very picturesque, I need to find somewhere better at some point.

I'll post some more pics when my 370mm Prototipo replica turns up on friday!

Cheers

Hi all

I'm so very happy to be able to add to this thread, and say the following - I've finally done it and bought my dream IB, and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. Had it about 2 weeks now, been meaning to get on here beforehand, but you know how it is. It's a Marine blue '88 sport in fair nick all round and I hope I keep it forever! Been a long old time in the search but it all seems worth it now. I've already spent a week (literally) underneath it and not nearly enough time driving it, but hey, there's plenty of time, right. Don't know how to add attachments as got "error 500 - internal server error" when trying to add a couple of pics, so you'll just have to take my word for it, but you all know what I'm talking about don't you. One final word - WOW.
