You are right, although it is listed on the Porsche parts system, it's NLA. You could use a wing screw, 6.3 x 19, 900.187.010.02, 42 pence each. Or try Wurth, but you will need to buy 50!

Looking to take her for a air con re-charge this weekend before the 1 hot week of summer comes. Is a straight forward job for the likes of Kwick fit etc? Anything i need to look out for?

Don't see why it would be any more difficult than a modern car, which is cheap(ish), easy and quick. Plenty of specialists around. Alot of people round here use these people, bit far for you but i'm sure you'll get a similar place locally.

Try local fridge guys (commercial fridges). I always find them WAY cheaper than most car places.

why not regas it yourself with a DIY aerosol. My local car shop does this and you just pay for half a can or whatever you use, saves you buying the whole lot.

Coxy,

did my old Volvo with an aerosol as Nige suggests. A/C was not very good on the Volvo and instead of sweating the old cobblers off stuck in Bristol traffic, I thought I'd buy a can,,,,,, just to try before shelving out any 'real' cash on the old girl.

Gotta say, it was the best £15 I have spent for a long time - freezing in the car now and happy to sit all day in the traffic now.

I'm not too sure if it will help yours, but it turned my sauna into a refregerated wonderland. :yahoo:

Will that fitting fit the old R12 system???? Visited several places today most couldn't do it and one said they can but will have to add fittings to accept the R134 type not found a refrigeration company open yet.

Anyone used the Halfords one on a IB system? Nige, what was it you recharged

Keep trying the fridge specialist angle. They service stuff going back 50 years and cash speaks.

Hi,

I had R12 in my BMW 850i and could not get it re-gassed anywhere as I was told it is now illegal to use it.

A mod. could have been done to convert to R134 A.

Regards,

Mark
