Do we know what company in Scotland made the fabric? I am looking for tartan, not sure which one I need to chose a colour first as this is new to the car not a restoration. So I just need fabric for a seat upholsterer to do the work.

    Thanks

    Try Scott at Canford Classics

  2. Just a quick post to thank @TomLD for his efforts in getting some red madras seat fabric manufactured.

I purchased my Black on Red 1973 911E back in 2011.  This car was originally delivered with red leatherette seats and red madras inserts.  At some point the madras was replaced with a plain red fabric.

I too started a search for the red madras but did not have the same persistence as Tom.  Fortunately for me this thread was brought to my attention and last week I purchased the last couple of metres from Canford Classics.

    Thanks Tom and Canford Classics.

  3. I am new to Porches having recently purchased a 89 3.2, and use it mainly on weekends.

Annoyingly every time I am out driving everyone keeps tailgating or overtaking me.

    Is this normal? or

    a) do other drivers enjoy overtaking a Porsche,

    b) people drive faster on weekends,

    c) is my speedo reading some 10 - 15% too high?

  4. Hi guys,

Thanks for the welcome and compliments.

Lesworth: Great Ocean Rd definitely on my list of drives...just have to make sure I don't get stuck behind a caravan.

Geoff: I am so glad our Aussie cars don't have to worry about salt on roads.

    Cheers, Doug

  5. Hi Everyone,

I thought I should say hello.

I'm Doug from Melbourne, Australia. My first Porsche is the 89 Carrera Coupe (pictured) ready for me to pick up on Day 1 of ownership last month. It's a manual with 120,000 documented kms on the clock. Its a garaged weekender which I hope to keep for many years.

I have been a bit slack so the only photos I have are from my mobile phone.

I have since joined PCV (Victoria) and will join the mid 911 register for a run this weekend to the area of the Victorian bushfires. They are encouraging visiors back to the area to help the local economy.

This is a great site and I am sure I will enjoy many hours here.

    Doug
