I have a similar problem with a 1984 with 70k on the closk on start up gauge reads 4.5 at idle when she warms up gauge reads 1 at idle and raises with the revs @3000 reads between 3 & 4 when she has a good run and is hot the gauge moves with the revs as you drive but as she idles she drpopps to 1 and the oil light comes on goes off as soon as you accelerate the warning light raises blood pressure should it? Is this the same issue as being described or ???????? Do I potentially have a major issue or is it a case of changing parts as a process of elimination.

Thanks Doc, I am in Catthorpe where is the next meet? Standard or not? no idea want a good sound and extra poke if poss advice is welcome Stainless or not? again no idea im new to the 911 world whichever is best that will last, basically I want to drop it off pick it up and drive away with a dirty grin on my face whilst listening to a great noise

1984 3.2 exhaust needs replacing where to get one that sounds good at a sensible price (include fitting) there doesnt seem to be much on the web or I am simply missing something currently quoted about 2k

I have a 1984 carrera cab which has a frustrating fault once the car has been driven and the engine is hot if you let the car idle it will cut out in under 30 seconds and will not restart until you have let it cool down for 20 / 30 mins anyone come across this one before?? Frustrating as I have just bough it and cant drive it for fear of cut out if you take your foot off the gas its booked in to be fixed but current repair date is a week away.
