  1. Well, it sold on the second attempt on ebay 4 weeks ago for £15,000. I've been waiting to be paid all this time, the buyer's from Hong Kong and for whatever reason it took longer than we had both expected. I delivered the car to the shipper on Thursday. So I can now announce it to the world! I'm happy at that price, that's what I wanted and that's what I think it was worth. Not decided what to replace if with yet...if anything...I'll just wait and see how I feel after a few months. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers at this traumatic time! My therapist says there's hope for me!
  2. I have but don't know what the Sherriff will say about them!
  3. I most certainly will....as soon as he's paid me!
  4. Ha ha! yes, I can see that coming. One option is a 3.2 Carrera which I'll strip out and lighten. But the point of selling the 930 was that I hardly used it so the next car has to be cheap enough to forget about for long periods. 3.2s aren't usually cheap. I've sold the car for £15K to a guy in Hong Kong but not been paid yet. Awaiting the TT today. I've spoken to him a few times and he sounds a decent chap. When I have the dosh in my sweaty little mitts I'll make it public by adding to the other thread about it being on ebay.
  5. I'll take that as a compliment, for the girl I guess She's a real sweetheart, undemanding, great sense of humour, well, she laughs at my jokes anyway! unlike my new grand-daughter who never laughs at my jokes. I'll sneak in a pic of them both, completely OT but what the heck, it'll cheer me up now she's gone back home for a month and I'm all alone! Lest we forget....there's more to life than IBs....well, only just!
  6. Girls just don't get it do they? I told her to put on something for the lads, she comes out in trousers and slippers! And can't understand why I asked her to adjust the O/S wiper from the N/S. Still, nice shot of the 930! Car's on ebay, 156 watchers at the mo and more than 1300 viewers. Doesn't necessarily mean anything I know but....... Is the 930 finally gaining interest at last? If It sells, I guarantee they'll take off, if it doesn't, they'll sink! That's the story of my life!

    Bentley

Not sure it's the Carrera Bentley you want. It's the SC for my '83 930, yours is later so maybe Carrera but I don't think so. The Cannell manuals are pretty good as previously advised although not as comprehensive as the Bentley. The 930 manual used to be on there, I've already downloaded it, don't know why they're removed it.
  8. Love that interior, especially with white, typical 70s garishness that now looks so right in these retro days. I think the cookies work with a tail-less car. The seats are sport Recaros, strange with a (presumably judging by the wheels and lack of spoilers) non-sport but I guess original. Never had a sporto but tried one once, clever device if set up properly, but only 3-speed IIRC
  9. Thanks Clive. I can always put 1 of these on it!
  10. 930s haven't performed that well there lately and mine would need the paint done at least cos presentation is everything. If I don't sell it now and do it up as originally planned I doubt I'd send it to Barons but if I just did the paint and dash, I think it could go there in its present state. Barons tend to be for cars that look good but have hidden problems (don't all classics?) or for fully restored cars . I'd have no qualms in putting it there without doing the welding but the paint would have to be good. I've sold plenty of cars there in the past but you have to pick your moment and I'm not sure how the classic car market is doing right now. But it's a thought. TBH I'd probably do just as well on ebay but I'm not ready for either ebay or Barons at the moment. I don't have to sell so I can test it on ebay I suppose. Barons fees are too high to test the market, you have to be more confident of a sale there before going down that route.
  11. Car's for sale on this forum now, no takers yet. TBH I don't think the market's that good for turbos and I really don't know why they are so unloved...as I've said in countless posts already! Anyway, my girlfriend's coming over in April and I've promised not to sell the car until she's been in it, interesting to see her reaction. I wonder if she'll think it's an old heap (the car that is!) or will it have the same effect as riding pillion on a motor bike!
  12. What it is to be in love!!
  13. No, you took the right car. She won't ask you to again!
  14. Hmm! Have to think of a sensible price I'll do that when she comes in April, just for you Fred!
  15. I think you're right there Dale. Mechanicals aren't a big deal, the bodywork has to be priority, that's what buyers see and I have to get it done to get a decent price. All I need is to remove the front wings and get it to the bodyshop. I'm away til April then my girlfriend's with me til the summer so I can find the time at least to do that. She can even help! And the weather will be better then so I'll have the motivation. After that, I can decide, sell or no sell. But I could just try an ad on PH first to see if there's any interest asis.
