The owner woudn't take a bid on it and the next minute it turned up on pistonheads under the care of Nick Faure the well known Porsche racer. Whever he bought it or was doing a commision sale i don't know but it was up for around 47,000 euros. The car needed a complete body restoration as there was rot everywhere so would have turned into a moneypit . The car still had it's original engine and interior and the last i heard it had gone out of the country for restoration

Guy, thanks for the info on cockney brown, it looks very much like the colour British Leyland painted their Allegros and Minis in the seventies ! I was a proud owner of a brown Morris Ital back in the day until it self dissolved . My excuse was it came styled by the hand of Guigaro !

Here is the pic of the different seats, it also shows the correct door cards which are missing on the car you are interested in. Hope it gives you an idea of what is standard and what was optional ! Paul, what colour is cockney brown ? The car i viewed was originally copper brown metallic code 432 . If you look carefully at the seats you will see the drivers seat is a recaro and the passenger one is standard , this was option M410 sports recaro seat which you could order

One more i found in my archive !

Paul, this is a shot of a genuine 2.7 interior i looked at last year. Hope it helps in your quest

I think the euro spec cars have been unfairly tarred with the same brush as the thermal reactor fitted cars and suffered accordingly but are now emerging from the shadows at last !

Was not even given the chance to bid on it,owner collected it after having minor electrical work done and it turns up on pistonheads for 47,000 euros advertised under Nick Faure. Was on for a couple of weeks then dissapeared

Chris, my 76 2.7 has the same compression ratio as the previous years 'S' i.e 8.5 :1 . My car is badged a Lux and was the base model for the european market but had the same engine as the north american cars but without the emissions equipment [air pump +thermal reactors ] and so ran cooler which helped to reduce the premature failure of the engine. As for options if you ordered from new i imagine Porsche would supply you with uprated suspension and brakes .As mine was the base car it came with boge dampers and ATE calipers

Nick, i think you are correct on the seats being original as the options on the 1974 cars are M409 sports recaro seats both M410 " " " driver only

Cheers Guy for the info, the rolls royce agent must have done a thorough job when they changed the colour . The vin stamping in the luggage compartment still has the factory black paint over it but the surrounding paint is the dark red as is the front slam panel. Have not found any trace of the copper brown yet but the door panels are coming off to fix the electric windows so there maybe a trace there

Hi Guy, that is the one although it s not in the same condition as the auction description [as good as new] The owners since must have followed the sheiks logic and kept the car outside on standby in the intervening years. Would the car have been copper bronze metallic originally with the 432 paint code ? as it states metallic colours were not put on carreras or could you have any colour you wanted ?

My sentiments entirely about the car Adam. The 2.7 carrera has emerged as a viable alternative to the 73 RS [as if i could ever afford one ] I can not do anything till next week as the owner is away but it leaves me time to build a war chest if needed. I have a lovely rot free 1976 2.7 which would have to go to fund work on it but i could be getting myself at it as the owner could just say no or price it out of my league. The only thing i'm worried about is if it turns into a moneypit but the way they are taking off it could be worth it in the end
