Yikes! That pic shows my rapidly developing bald patch Neil! I think the spot the difference thing afflicts us all tbh! The bodywork on my car was given a good going over by me and a mate of mine who is well into his car detailing. Nothing complicated but shows the car up nicely. I also think certain colours show depth better than others.

Neil, your resourcefulness knows no bounds! Here are a few pics of Neil's silver 912E alongside mine...

The work of Beelzebub himself! Rick... you are welcome to my big bumpettes... once I have got my finger out and changed them!

Thanks for the kind comments gents. I had initially thought the colour was Sienna Metallic, but after some further research I now believe it is Sahara Diamond Metallic. Soon find out for sure I guess, coz I'll be ordering a touch up kit from paints4u.com. They have paint number 436 listed as Sahara Diamond.

LOL! Now that would be a good trick! Struggling to find the right size in the Kumho's too. Think I'm gonna go with a pair of Bridgestone ER30's. Similar tread pattern to the RE88s, and around £120 fitted.
-
Thanks Dug. Yes, will be changing the bumperettes. I bought a very nice Euro set from Ian C a while back, but haven't got round to fitting them yet.
-
I thought I'd share these with you all. And here's one of mine alongside Paul911's lovely 3.2, taken in the parking area at the recent Woodvale Rally.
-
I'll check them out JG. Thanks. Specifically, which Kumhos?

LOL!! Or was he the work experience guy!? The tyres on my car are Bridgestone RE88s. Nothing special but a decent branded tyre. Besides, I don't have the performance of a 911 so the RE88s will do fine. The rears are fine, in good shape with lots of tread left. So I'm looking around for a pair of RE88s in 195/65/15. Can I find them???? NO! Every bloomin' size but that one!

Hmmm... yes I think I need to! LOL! Kidding myself that I may get away with them a little while longer. Also I hadn't really appreciated the sensitivity of the steering set up on an IB. Another valuable lesson in IB ownership. Is Robin at 9M a bloke in, maybe, his 50s? I don't think he did my wheel alignment... it was a younger guy, possibly named Mark. I think he did consult Robin a couple of occasions whilst doing mine though.

Gents Thanks for the opinions and advice. They make interesting reading. I am now beginning to suspect that it is indeed the tyres that are emphasizing the pull to the left. I must add that the pull is only noticeable when i let go of the steering wheel (under safe conditions, naturally!). When I'm driving along normally, hands on the wheel, I don't really notice it. Tbh, I'm thinking that the lightness of the front end of these cars may have a tendency to over-exaggerate the pull? Anyway, I am certainly going to swap the front wheels to the back and see how much difference that makes. Also, here are a couple of photos of my tyres. N/S O/S As you can see the N/S tyre is more worn on the inside section than the O/S, hence the pull to the left presumably. The tyres were like this when I bough the car I hasten to add! And haven't really done much mileage since i got it.

Tyres are worn on the inside shoulder. Obviously due to poor tracking/alignment. The toe-in was way out when analysed on 9M's machine. IIRC tyres are not directional. Will take some pics and post tomorrow.

Only while driving. Jev My car isn't particularly low. I know what you mean about camber of the road, but usually the camber will pull your car gradually to the left (unless the camber is very pronounced). My seems to veer left fairly quickly! I will certainly try your suggestions though.
-
Tea boy... Just swap the front wheels over? Silly question, but what difference will that make? Or is it something you'd just try as a potentially easy fix? Boz
-
I had four wheel alignment done on my car a couple of weeks ago at 9Meister. The car feels better to drive now, but still pulls to the left (not as bad as it did!). The tyres are inflated correctly, and the brakes are no longer intermittently binding. What causes for the pulling should i be looking for... ball joints, bushings, steering rack?? Advice gratefully accepted! Cheers
