  1. Thanks angusb, The garage has now sorted it, apparently a corroded wire connection in the immobiliser wiring, so back on the road
  2. 0k thanks and yes I guess its not surprising but thought I would ask anyway.
  3. Yes there is, my car is in the garage and the guy doing the work has told me he thinks there is a problem with the immobiliser wiring but he would like to get hold of a wiring diagram as it will save him a lot of time and effort. I have posted previously about the car not starting and have eventually had the car taken by the AA to a local garage to try to get it sorted. I can see why it may appear somewhat sinister wanting an immobiliser diagram which I guess is what it may have looked like but nothing could be further from the truth...... so I will ask again if someone could help out with this I would be grateful. Thanks, John
  4. Guys, Would someone have wiring diagram for the Porsche immobiliser system please - 1989 3.2? Mine was fitted by AFN Porsche by the second owner but I cant find anything regarding the wiring. Much obliged in advance. John
  5. Hi, Can anyone tell me what the part numbers are for the BMW speed and reference sensors are as a replacement for the Porsche ones - 1989 3.2.? Thanks in advance, John
  6. Here is a picture of the top of the front suspension mounts. The black "compound" looks hard and "crispy" as though it has melted and then solidified!
  7. Thanks for that, but what is it and why does it look as though its melted and then re-solidified? Anyone?
  8. After pulling away the carpet from the fuse box in the front luggage compartment I noticed some black "compound" on the top of the shock absorber turrets. It looked like either a rubber or plastic material but oddly it also looked like it had melted and then re-solidified. It was the same on the other side also. Any ideas what this stuff is and if it has melted at some point what would have caused this? Thanks in advance.
  9. yes half a tank of fuel, alarm working fine. how do you check crank / flywheel sensors, what is their failure mode? will check for spark and plugs Thanks
  10. Hi Guys, Hope someone can help! I came to start my 89 3.2 today after a few months of inactivity (since it was serviced and MOT'd in May). Would not start, engine spins over fast as it has been on a Ctek charger. Changed the DME for a new one, still no good. Checked the earth for the DME on the engine, was good and tight. Checked the fuel pump fuse, also good with no corrosion. Anything else simple I can check at home before I cry help and get someone to check it over? Thanks in advance John
  11. would agree with the above, phosphoric acid or other acid based treatments could eat into the splines if used to de-rust the TB.
  12. I have to say I'm always impressed by Ivan's technical response to questions
  13. I would agree with Ian, the caliper piston tool is a must for your toolbox if you are fettling your own brakes.
  14. A sliver/grey Coupe parked at the Preston Park and Ride near Hartington Rd. Anyone on here?
