  1. Nice car, had one of them with a 6 speed manual box few years ago and with few minor mods was a great car. You may want to keep an eye on baby bmw net for sale forum - http://www.babybmw.net if interested in buying bits for it. Easy brake upgrade is to fit 6 pot brakes from a 135i as they are a straight bolt on and will cost considerably less than Alcons.
  2. If you don't mind windscreen mounted one tomtom iphone mount is quite good.(http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TomTom-car-kit-for-iPhone-3-3GS-4-4S-/121160723943?pt=UK_CE_GPS_Accessories_Software_ET&hash=item1c35bdede7) It has a built in speaker and combined with the Harry's lap timer app on my iphone it works quite well as a track day camera/lap timer.
  3. Hello fellow IBers. Spent the afternoon installing new suspension bits and have a question about adjustment bolt on the torsion bar/end cap: After installing my new 21 mm TBs the front was at a 4WD height even at the lowest adjustment. I then tried re-installing the TBs but used a trolley jack to push the wheels/A arms up to put some tension on the TB. This achieved desired ride height however when I now jack up the car and wheels/A arms are at their lowest height (hanging in the air) the TB adjustment bolt is no longer pushing against its stop (pic attached) which was not the case with the original bars I removed (even with the wheels dangling the bolt was still hard against the stop). This may sound like a stupid question but is this the way it should be or do I need to remove/reinstall TBs and/or adjust the end caps again?
  4. Thanks Larry, I agree with you. It would be easier to fix the problem by simply fitting the sensor than backdating and I think I have the problem solved: Recently I received a PM from Paul (forum name: SonFlowerinWales) who offered to send me his sensor which I just received. He did not want to take any money from me despite my requests which was very nice and generous of him. Just another example of IB camaraderie. Thanks Paul, if I ever meet you I owe you at least few rounds of your favorite beverage.

According to the supplier it is Momo UK that are not willing to replace it under warranty and the supplier did not seem to be too keen on resolving this with them. They said they may consider giving me a discount on another wheel. I do feel like feeding it to them but am sure I would cool off by the time I get there seeing I am in Australia and the supplier is UK based. Thanks Dom, Bought it from Design 911. Not sure if they would sell cheap knock offs but then again for all I know Momo may have switched to a cheap(er) contract manufacturer so it is still a "genuine" Momo yet the quality is not what it used to be.
  7. Here is mine, hand made for my previous car (BMW) and it works in a 911, I just had to turn it upside down. First pic with the seat pushed all the way back and the second one with the seat in a normal (midway) position.
  8. Very exciting seeing a freshly painted body for the first time. Looks great.

Have installed one in my 3.2 recently and think it suits the car perfectly. I did find quality to be a bit on the low side as the leather started peeling off within few weeks of installing it. Supplier is not interested in replacing it under warranty but has offered to sell me another one.
  10. Thanks Gary. I was hoping that if the sensor is the only issue it would be easier to install the sensor than fluff around with manual controls. Nige, No sensor in my car in that location. On “0” position I get no air flow but positions from 1 to max appear to blow the air at the same speed and temp. Thanks Mark. The engine bay fan works. I can hear it but now that you mentioned it I'm not sure about the footwell blowers. Need to have another look.
  11. Thanks. Spent some time looking through threads on Pelican and it looks like this is a plug and the sensor (Part No: 911 659 105 01) is missing which according to Pelican parts website is NLA.
  12. Thread dig: My car seems to have the same problem with max heat irrespective of the dial position. Looking at the interior sensor position (attached image) I am unsure if what I have is the temperature sensor or is this the plug and sensor is missing all together?
  13. Some great photos there. Here is my modest contribution: Wakefield Park
