Why not go for 996 Carrera or Boxster S brakes? /Peter

No, it only measures relative toe angle. I've usually only checked the absolute toe angle by eye sight. With a little bit of practice the differences between the sides have been easy to spot. /Peter

I made myself a toe-fork (tm). See last post in linked thread. It makes a very quick job of measuring toe, and has seen both garage and track-side duty. /Peter

Exhaust system for standard 3.2
Peter Bull replied to Roy M's topic in Exhaust System and Cabin Air/Heating
I was under the impression that JP Group that own SSI offer an SSI set with larger tubing. There are two types available, this and this, but whether one has larger tubes than the other is not clear. /Peter -

I'm more than willing to help out 😀, but I'd be surprised if I'm the only one. /Peter -

A version of the below air intake with a longer runner to get the filter into fresh and cooler air would be interesting. Choosing the right filament material and making the hollow section should be a decent challenge. Apparently the above air intake doesn't fit properly so an added challenge would be to engineer one that fits well. /Peter -
Looking good! I apologize for not answering your earlier question. I'm afraid I just read it, but it seems you managed quite well without my misdirection. /Peter

That issue was covered in the PP thread. As of now I've used my setup for about 13 years and 40 000 km without any problems with pinching. /Peter

Yes, I made the molds from wood and the intakes are vacuum infused vinylester and carbon fiber. That depends on the plastic. Usually polyester is used as matrix in glass fiber laminates. Both polyester and epoxy glues can be used to bond to polyester based laminates. Epoxy is also common as matrix material. Polyester does not bond particularly well to epoxy. Sometimes polyurethane is used to get a tough laminate. Polyurethane can be tricky to glue, and may require a polyurethane based glue. Many mass produced glass fiber parts are manufactured using thermoplastics like polyamide. Thermoplastics are difficult to get good glues for. For low loads hot melt glue can be used. Thermoplastics can be welded using the right equipment. Cyanoacrylate, or super glue, can be used, but requires very even surfaces and very thin bond lines. For higher loads and thicker bonds a methacrylate glue, such as Araldite 2021, can be used. The secret to getting a good bond, irrespective of matrix material, is serious surface preparation of the pieces that are to be bonded. Clean, sand and clean the surfaces. The manufacturer of the glue usually have good instructions. Be careful with solvents because they can contaminate the surfaces and reduce the bond strength. /Peter

Yes, I did for brake cooling. You can find a write up on this PP thread. See post 26 and later. /Peter

I don't know if they do fitting, but the cage wasn't too difficult to fit. It required a certain amount of persuasion, but considering when the car was made kind of I suspected that. /Peter

It's made by GTE Motorsport in Essen, Germany. /Peter

I'm fine, thanks. I hope you're good too. It's bolted to the front and rear outside seat belt mounts. /Peter

Thanks, hasn't been much time for more than lurking lately 🙁 /Peter
