Hi all,

Im guessing my car will have this type

What options do I have If I want to run no sill covers?

This is the ideal look

Any tips?

Thanks

If you have the G50 transmission then you need the big cut outs in order to be able to change the rear torsion bars. If you go with the early bodywork and a t-bar snaps then it's impossible to change it without hacking into your rear quarter. That's one of the biggest giveaways when looking at a backdated late car. Though Nick managed to hide it pretty well on the ST he built CLICKY

Im sure something can be made up.

Could that look be improved on a little by running the decals completely across the top (i.e. not cutting them along the lines of the cover)? It would mean sacrificing the back section of a sticker if the cover had to come off, but that's what happens with the sharkfin stickers anyway.

Neat solution Nick - been thinking about what do do with my tin-opener version

Just so you know I have G50 box and during the backdate had it changed to the early look - I'd got some bad advice that you could still get a torsion bar out. I found out to my expense that you can't change the torsion bars without cutting the bodywork to some extent, so I dremelled it off. It's something I've always been meaning to sort out and am still thinking of a number of options so it's nice to see this one. It doesn't bother me nearly as much as I thought it would though

And if you used a Silicone / Caulk to fill in the 'line' under the sticker before you applied it you would never know but still be able to remove when necessary

If you don't fancy stripes an extended body colour 'Sharks fin' would probably work
