  1. Personally I would never acid dip a 911. It will bleed from the seams and there will be acid trapped somewhere in the shell.
  2. Did you go EJH. Was yours the black LHD cab. Very nice along with a 66 2 litre car in silver. Nice people and a great vipe. Will definitely go again
  3. Best bet is to buy some rattle cans. I pay £10 each for mine and in the scheme of things it is a cheap deal. My niece has been deliberating over what colour to paint her project. Not a 911 but a BMW 1 series with a supercharged E92 V8. Had our mates next door make up a load of curved aluminium plates. Gives you a true perspective as our cars have lots of curves. Best thing is I get the blame for her obsession with cars hehe
  4. Nice job Fred. Just never been a fan of the 996 dash and interior. That said they are tremendous value for HP. Might I suggest a Dodge Charger Hellcat for the family. LHD only but quite a piece of kit
  5. Yes probably the pad material. You could try putting a slight chamfer on the leading edge of the pads. This might help. Let me know how you get on
  6. Hi. Use a pair of pliers in the centre of the spring. Front to back of the calliper not side to side. Squeeze together and the retaining spring will lift up
  7. I've seen paint jobs for this kind of money. You would do better with a paint roller and a can of Dulux
  8. Many thanks Paul. Happy New Year by the way and I hope you have been keeping well. Guess I should have hung onto that one a little longer eh
  9. Glad to hear you are on the mend Chris. Back trouble is really no fun. Say Hi to dad. That pick was taken at Oulton Park with the BBS wheels on. Uncle Vic I told you all that hard work at the gym was no good for you. Kerry does enough exercise for the both if us
  10. Not riveted arches. But secured with stainless steel bolts and stickaflex tape. IMO the most awesome looking 911 ever built. If you are going to go with big HP you need all the track and tyre width you can get to enable you to put that power down. Not a problem with K16's and what 408bhp. But with K24's and nigh on 500bhp + you will light the tyres up everywhere. I'm sure we have all watched the yellowbird video. Just awesome but that requires a very different level of commitment. Been there and got the T shirt
  11. angusb for a road car maybe. But the corner weights will give you an insight into whether the shell is straight and true or bent. My SSE is 2kg out over the car and now handles like it should have done.
  12. Bloody hell. Just gobsmacked.
  13. I've never worried about having a full cage in the car. The seats are set as low as they can go with six point harnesses. Some roll bar padding where it should matter. Makes me feel very safe and cosy. The only thing I do not like is the knee breaker bar under the dash. So I had the cage people leave that bar out.
  14. Someone upstairs is looking after you. Good to hear
  15. My niece was there for two days on the BMW car club stand. A chap with a 3.0 CSL Batmobile gave her a lift home this evening. I'll get the full SP at work tomorrow
