Yeah, sorry, gone😁

Apparently this is built on a 986 Boxster and it’s €7900 for the kit. Plus alloys, donor car etc. Or €25k for him to build you one, (plus donor car and wheels)

Hi all, I was wondering if I could tap in to the vast knowledge of you all? I’ve just had a full, windows out resto/paint job done and, unfortunately, I didn’t strip it down. It was done by someone who, for reasons I can’t go in to, is no longer available to ask how he did it. My issue is, on the door tops where the window slides up and down, I’m not sure what seals I need and how they fit. It’s a 1985 Targa and I’ve looked on the pet diagram and I’m pretty baffled as to how the items 6 and 7 attach. I can see a rubbery felt like seal or something inside the top of the door slot (which has disintegrated) but I cannot work out how new ones would fit or which to buy. Any help/photos would be massively appreciated! Regards Russ

Hi all, Selling my replica Fuchs. Set of 7” and 9” Fuchs replicas bought from Type 911 in 2017. Satin black centres but no centre caps. (Original Porsche ones will not fit these particular replicas.) The wheels are in mint condition and the tyres are like new too. I’ve done approximately 500 miles on them. (They’re Toyo Proxes T1R’s 205-55-16 and 245-45-16) The reason for the sale is that I’ve changed the look of the car. Looking for £750. But sorry, collection only. Based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Cheers Russ Just gave them a quick rinse off. Absolutely mint.😁👍🏻

No worries thanks Russ

Hi @RivieraBob it would appear that FKM ECO hose is resistant to Ethanol higher than 5%, according to the internet. So it may be a “newer” stock part. But that crimp is a bit sharp and may have distorted the inner wall of the hose. So massaging it may make it look better but it’s now become a weak point, in my opinion. I’d say definitely take it back. Especially with what it cost! Regards Russ

Hi Bob, Sorry to hear you’ve been unwell! Thanks for the info and prices. It’s a real minefield isn’t it!!?? I've asked my Porsche parts supplier to try and get some info too and, like you, he couldn’t get a straight answer for me. But he too thinks that unless it’s old stock it should be newer hosing. But then he also mentioned…….what else would need to be replaced? Pump, filter, fuel regulator, damper?? 😩😩 I’m hoping he can tell me what’s available soon then I can make a choice on what to order and from where. I do like the idea of Len’s tunnel lines due to the easier fitting. I don’t like the sound of sending my hoses to him to have them re-hosed. I’m pretty sure that could be done in the U.K. somewhere. (Pirtek for example) I’ll let you know if I hear any more from my Porsche parts. Cheers Russ

Hi @RivieraBob, Did you sort anything out with the fuel lines? Cheers Russ

👍🏻

Thanks @Chris_911.👍🏻 I had already read your superb thread where you said you’d used Paul Mason lines, but I was confused as earlier in this thread you said you’d fitted Len Cummings tunnel lines. (I’d missed the bit where you said you ordered Len’s tunnel lines) Sorry for my mistake. Regards Russ

Did you use Porsche parts @jevvy? If so, are they E10 compliant? Cheers Russ Which did you use @Chris_911? Cheers Russ

I can’t offer any advice on which to choose. (only that I’d prefer Len’s kit.) But I’d be interested in a group buy if you could arrange something. Regards Russ
-
Sorry Matt @Type911 I didn’t realise you did them😳

Hi Will, If you go on the Carbone website you’ll find that they do an under bonnet sticker and they’ll do the same one to fit in your service book. https://www.carbone.pl/en/products/under-hood-and-warranty-paper-stickers-1986-1989-68 Regards Russ

He’s used a washer to set the gap??!!😳 Does this “mechanic” not have any feeler gauges? Or am I doing him a disservice by assuming they can fit in the space?

Looks stunning!! 😁👍🏻
