Fuchs for the 911S were also 6Jx15 front and rear and could I believe be optioned on the base model.

The conventional calculation using bore and stroke gives 2687 cc and this is presumably what you would use for French registration 2653 cc is the figure produced using the piston diameter instead of the bore, it is known as the 'fiscal capacity' and was used to qualify the vehicle in a lower taxation class in Germany.

Vassilis, Thanks for your interest in my '74 restoration which is still ongoing. Unlike Italian cars it had extensive rust but the bodywork is now all done, and mechanical components apart from engine and gearbox are in place. Otherwise needs interior and glass finishing. These projects always take much longer than anticipated and other things always get in the way. Guy

Mark, The pop-out rear windows and the '911S instruments' package as it was known were specified as options by Porsche Cars GB for the British Market. I can't see a reference to the oil cooler but maybe it was specified by PCGB. Guy

Hello Vassilis, All the things you list were standard for the base 911 so nothing to worry about there. The oil cooler was used for the more powerful Carrera and Porsche didn't see a requirement for it on the 150 bhp base model. If you do need one for Rome temperatures the system to go for would be the later matrix type rather than the earlier 'trombone' version.

Keith sold the car, still needing restoration to a new owner in Australia a couple of years ago. I haven't heard anything further about it since then.

I concur that the orange outer lenses are correct for Italy. SC on the VIN plate is also correct, it is the internal designation used by Porsche for the Carrera from the '73RS. The 'K' on the VIN plate is the model year: G=74, H=75, I=76, K=77 For some reason 'J' was not used Looks a good Carrera 3 to me and presumably the dealer would have some paperwork to support an Italian delivery. (A previous ad said delivered new in Milan)

That is it, I last saw it at the 'Classics at the Castle' event in 2014 when the theme was 40 years of the Turbo. The owner was saying that as a pre-production car it was fitted with variable boost! Also at the event was the 'first Turbo' which was in a Carrera 2.7 body and presented to Ferry Porsche's sister Louise Piech for her 70th Birthday and is now in the Porsche Museum collection. CFD, I remember the exchanges we had but couldn't find them in my email archive. Glad to have sorted out the question about yours being the Motor Show car. 3.0 Turbo is a great car to have whatever. senna223, is the show car #28 or #46 then? and presumably you have some history with the car to indicate it was the car on the stand. -

I don't have a photo of the stand but I have a Porsche Cars GB press release listing the cars on the stand. The Turbo was Platinum with a dark green leather interior, green seat inserts and dark green carpets. This could be either chassis number 28 or 46 which both had identical specs. There were 2 further 1976 model UK Turbos in Platinum but one had a brown interior and the other white with blue carpet and were also produced after the Motor Show in October 1975. -
The all polyurethane spoiler was one of two versions used by the factory on the C3. The other one was like the one on the orange car and the oak green one here but without the second grille

No, not a Carrera 3 spoiler it is from a 3.0 Turbo with aircon.

The '76 dash is a one year only version with no speaker cover and no centre vents which were introduced for the 1977 model year.

The 1976/1977 Speedway Green is virtually identical if not the same as the earlier Viper Green. The Vipergrun Metallic (Emerald Green) in English language brochures is completely different.
