  1. Morning All, We interviewed Phil McGovern on Friday last week, i'd recommend a listen as its great to hear the full story of how C&M was formed. https://9werksradio.buzzsprout.com/883537/14701482-making-the-machine-with-c-m-founder-phil-mcgovern Cheers Andy
  2. Just finished doing my valve clearances. The gaskets fitted previously were the same silicon bead ones I had bought to replace. Good thing is that I had zero leaks with these, so hoping I have the same this time round. Carrpet, the kirk tool will be in the post to you tomorrow. I had great success with the tool, easy to use and felt confident that clearances are good. So much easier than trying to use a feeler gauge 😀
  3. I have bought from these guys the last couple of times, always seem to be the best price for VR1, but just slightly over the Opie price right now. https://www.tayna.co.uk/engine-oil/valvoline/
  4. I ordered the ones with the silicone bead on saturday from Type911. Fingers crossed they are good.
  5. Sweet find that 😀
  6. Such a cool car in my eyes. I drove one this year, felt very mature compared to my SC, lovely thing 🙂
  7. I drove it last week. Its a wonderful build, but the big money is all about who built it.
  8. I'm interested in these, I knew about the ones that were made a few years ago, but didnt know these existed. Look forward to see the install pictures. Cheers Andy
  9. I drove Jonny's SC last week with his Rennshift, was very impressed with it 👌
  10. Johan pretty much filled the big barn with some of his cars, that was worth it. I think it will be the only year that building will be free for such a display.
  11. I’m up for this too 👍
  12. Hi All, Sorry to drag this old one up. Does anyone have a set available. I'm still cleaning out Welsh mud from last weeks road trip. Would love to protect the old girl from that sort of thing again. Thanks Andy
  13. Thanks FF, but that's only for post 83 cars 🙃 I have found this, but I don't know what option codes my car has as yet. https://www.stuttcars.com/porsche-911-1978-options-codes/
  14. Hi All, When I bought my 993 I was able to chuck my VIN number into a website and out popped all the info on when, where it was built / delivered, option codes etc. It was all very easy from memory. The SC being pre 83 doesn't have the big long VIN number that the later cars come with, I can't find any detail in the service book and no sticker under the bonnet to show options codes. Is there anyway to find out info on the earlier cars? The VIN number is 9119300511. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks Andy
  15. Thanks Chaps. More pics of the 993 are on my instagram account if you fancy a look, its 993andy. Cheers Andy
  16. Hi All, I have been a longtime lurker, nearly 13 years! At last I have something to share and hope I can bring something to the community. I have had love for the Porsche and the G Body for many years, hence 13 years of lurking. I attended Luft GB back in 2018 that finally sealed the love and made me pull the trigger on buying a Porsche. I'm sure a good few of you were at that event, I remember Jonny's car in particular. After that day the search began, anything aircooled was in the range finder. Not long after I picked up my Guards Red 993, its a C2 Manual with no sunroof, LSD, black sport seats, all the right bits. It looked like the first photo when I bought it. It's now gone through a few different looks to end up like the second picture. I have carried out all the work myself including a full suspension and brake refresh last winter. I have had the lust for a G body for a while, we have recently been looking for a car for my wife, she wants a targa or cab. Long story, but my search took me off tangent to a 1979 SC that I fell in love with, I believe the car is known to IB. Its in Dolomite Grey Metallic (which i'm lead to believe is a special wish colour on the SC) with a Red Lobster Pinstripe interior. I'll let the pictures doing the talking... Look forward to getting involved with IB community. Cheers Andy Brookes
