  1. I like that it takes all the old components out of the picture: fuel metering dizzy, WUR, vacuum lines, injectors, distributor. I may not bother with the 911 but the 924 needed the upgrade to improve general drivability. it feels a little like when I added the Steve Wong chip to my old 3.2. Its like you can drive in a gear lower than before if that makes sense. Looking forward to taking it to Germany in a few weeks.
  2. Its not advertised to gain power etc and I dont think the guy cares what its like compared to ITB's etc. He has had good results and take up in the 924 and 928 circles so a logical next step is to develop the kit for the CIS powered 911. He is running a SC with the kit installed to develop and refine the tuning. I can say that the kit was very easy to fit to the 924. It took me perhaps 3 solid weekends spread out over several months. Part of that was because I also changed the intake manifold to the later series two Turbo manifold as well as the later throttle body which is a good upgrade in its own right (T-Body is rebuildable with rubber seals versus pressed in brass seals that are prone to leaking). It truly is bolt on and the only 'mods' I had to do was cut down the throttle butterfly shaft by 5 mil to fit the TPS from the kit, Insert a diode in the alternator exciter wire and change the car side engine loom connector to a later type to fit the loom from the kit. It started on the button and runs like a champ. It does feel like it has more power but that could just be placebo. Not hesitation, stumbling, flat spots which I occasionally got. You also lose much of the vacuum lines that control advance and retard as well as to the WUR (which you remove, obvs). Its quite cool that you can connect it to a laptop to check things like timing and idle speed. You can be much more accurate with this basic set up.
  3. Hi All, A bolt on EFI kit for the SC is in development by a chap in Romania. He has already developed a kit for the CIS equipped 924 and 928. I recently fitted his kit on my 924 Turbo and it is great. He is well known in European 924 circles and I must say the quality of the kit on my 924 is superb. Take a look on his website The 924. No affiliation, just a happy customer passing this on. I’ll be watching the development of this closely. Cheers, Les
  4. I used to Marshall that event. Its great.
  5. Yes, going to Neckarsulm & Stuttgart with the 924 OC and using the Dover / Calais ferry. Its been about 25 years since I last used a cross channel ferry so will be interesting to see if its ok or feels frustratingly slow compared to the tunnel. There is no rush to be anywhere at a certain time so think it will be fine.
  6. My next car trip to Europe will be via Ferry.
  7. Chris - have you tried heat? Last time I had issues I put the caliper in the vice and applied both compressor air and heat and after some time it came free (remember to duck).
  8. Its the best tool by far that I have bought. I wish I had bought one years ago.
  9. I guess it depends how often its been in and out (shake it all about). But I dont think its unresonable to remove it for this job. It wouldnt put me off. Autowerke in Norwich seem to have a good reputation but I have never used them myself. Search 'Autowerke' on here and you might find some comments from those that have?
  10. Lovely looking heading towards Thaxted or Finchingfield. Approx 10.30 this morning. I forgot myself and almost waved before realising I was in my daily driver
  11. I think Ollie and his Brother have been a pair of very naughty boys... Seems they have gotten themselves involved in some interesting financial shenanigans...
  12. Couple of minor snags to work through now I have put a few miles on it over the weekend. But its all good 😎
