  1. Grabbers come in many sizes. For a few quid it must be worth trying a smaller version. Good luck.

  3. We've stayed here a couple of times. Super clean, free parking nearby and a short stroll into the centre for bars/restaurants etc. Nice guy, easy communication etc. N.B. Laon can be a bit closed on Mondays/Tuesdays.... https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/636019817497018043?check_in=2024-03-21&check_out=2024-03-22&source_impression_id=p3_1710777620_TfMpU5wwYpO4iy%2BF&previous_page_section_name=1000&federated_search_id=ea031645-6295-47cc-bacc-e741b4fa6cd9
  4. I've been waiting years for one of these!
  5. I've been there before, it's a fascinating but little museum. I'd be interested, it's not far from me, good to get a run out if weather decent. I also know a few good pubs locally if lunch was of interest. Chris
  6. Impressed! I loved Japan, worked there a few times. What is the bike outside the model shop? 1st Gen CBR600?
  7. At least it’s your doorstep, I once received a photo of somebody else’s. Never did find out who!
  8. Buy it, knock the house down and build another? Probably cheaper than building a garage like that!
  9. Because they are for thicker (and probably larger diameter) discs. The beauty of the early boxter callipers is that they are an almost bolt-on solution, suit standard 3.2 discs and fit under 15" wheels.
  10. Wayne may be amongst the best but he cannot be the ONLY person with this technology. Ring around, see what others say.
  11. Lloyds of Warminster are good guys, not the cheapest partly because they use a bolt on hub attaching dyno arrangement, so there's most of an hour gone before you start....
  12. Ivan is of course right, the minimum is 2 big axle stands and a floor jack. Indeed I've seen Russel Lewis (No.1 Porsche engine man IMHO) do it exactly like that BUT if you already have a 2 post lift it is way easier! Tim, I found control of lift no problem, I can move mine almost mm at a time. Just undo almost everything, drop it onto the trolley, undo the engine and gearbox mounts and lift the car off.... Good luck whichever method you use. Chris.
  13. I use something like this but heavier duty. Already got casters on, wheel away to the engine shop dept of your garage.... https://www.bigdug.co.uk/handling-access-c22/handling-c5791/shelf-trolleys-c189/heavy-duty-table-trolleys-p13499
  14. I'm with a small bunch of mates who go every year, same campsite same everything and some of us have been stitched this year, and a couple are ACO members.... We all reckon it's tout's auto bots buying them plus ever expanding corporate sales.
  15. That is more-or-less how I do it, except I have a heavy duty trolley to place the engine on and raise the car. I used to use a Sealey (?) bike lift and while it did the job on a 915 car the balance point was just OK, with a heavier G50 unit the balance point tended to tip the lift a bit, still do-able though. With a bit of practice, a helping hand and the right tools ready to go, it can easily be done in 1 hr out, 2 in.
  16. I have sway away as above, very happy. BUT their bushes are not same size as standard, so your choices are the red sway away hardish poly ones supplied and pictured above or Elephant's own brand re grease-able bearing version.
  17. Yes, whenever I've had tinware or any other light duty fastenings off I've replaced with stainless allen bolts. Looks way neater IMHO of course. Readily available from Ebay etc. but my local fastenings shop does better quality for a few pennies more.
  18. No rush Phil, Jev has first dibs and they are only shelf spares for me.
  19. Hi Phil, at £70 if Jevvy doesn’t buy I will. Chris
  20. If you lot hadn't poo pood'd my suggestion of full flexi pipes many threads ago, Ian would have no issues removing the callipers without the need to re-bleed. Just sayin'
  21. As Meatloaf sang 2 outa 3 ain't bad. In this case 3 outa 4 must be better. Buy a Hayabusa?
