  1. Nice, panoramic hard top to
  2. Hi Mate, this is a shocker........ when did you sell?
  3. Wow, never thought i'd see the day Longman sold up......... Can you squeeze an R8 in budget? I owned a 968 for 8 years after the IB, great track car but probably not what you're looking for......... RS6 came and went (thanks to the men in balaclavas for removing it form me....) now hooning in a TTS, TTRS are worth a look, more capable than they're given credit for.
  4. Typical, have a do up town that eve..... might see if I can escape early.
  5. Evening all, not been on here in a loooooong time - looks like the SE crew still meet up, will keep an eye out for th next meet and maybe catch up with some of you then. Hope everyone is well.
  6. If water pumpers are allowed along i'd be interested.
  7. I have a 968 so same seating position as 944. I have the black mounts Shirish shows in the picture with pole positions and set as low as they can go. With helmet on I don't have a lot of room and i'm barely touching 6ft, certainly not 4 inches spare.
  8. Looks a bit 'nose in the air' Rear looks fine but need to level it up, whether thats front down or rear up.
  9. If it were cheap I'd be tempted, same colour as my 968, agree on the arches, but an easy fix. Look forward to seeing/hearing yours run.
  10. Fancy another Les? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1982-Porsche-924-turbo-Carrera-GT-Replica-garaged-since-2002-stored-14yrs-/262768402271?hash=item3d2e379f5f:g:MX8AAOSw5cNYVwFh
  11. Indeed they are the same as the 964 (and 87 on 944)
  12. On the ISA V Pension, you want to at least put into pension enough so that you can draw annually up to the income tax free limit, then it's tax free in tax free out and don't forget you can take 25% tax free as a lump sum anyway. Only when you have that in place (or will have enough by retirement) put into ISA, unless of course you can afford to do both. If you want to do a buy to let (for income NOT capital growth) then somewhere like Nottingham gives good returns. Not sure how old you are but better late than never.......
  13. Theres a really nice 9000 for sale on Pistonheads. .......
  14. Thanks Matt, hoping not to need so many parts as I've bought from you for the 968! (Although do need a jet black metallic touch up stick). Power is 381bhp and 850nm or about 635 lbft in old money, lots of places advertise chipping to about 425bhp and 950nm. TBH other than pub bragging rights I don't see much point in losing my licence even quicker Yup, Audi based which is probably no bad thing.
  15. I agree, although I reckon in 4 years we used the extra rear seats in the Disco 3 times so I can live without them. You should, almost negates the need for the petrol version IMHO but I may be slightly biased......
  16. The roof It's got bluetooth streaming music Les so no need for CD's i'm down with the Spotify Kids........ Quite similar just spread out more in a straight line, I like the Macan also.
  17. Theres about another 15 in the roof console!
  18. It replaces the trusty old Discovery 3 SP, I've had that about 4 years, you're one up on me, just 3 cars here. I've been very pleasantly surprised by the engine, it's not very 'diesel' in sound and is seriously quick for a barge, think the 0-62 is under 5.5 seconds, serious amount of torque (850nm). Not that I'll bother but easily chipped as well. I've been a bit heavy with the right foot since picking it up but still managed to average 27mpg.
  19. As some will know after having a little 'prang' in my 911 back in 2010 I bought a 968 which I still have to this day and track quite regularly. Well i've bought another Porsche, this time a daily (well I get the train to work so not exactly daily). Its an approaching 3 years old Cayenne S Diesel, 4.2 V8, gotta love that engine. One previous owner who ticked just about every option when new (over £30k worth). Had it a few days and loving it. Although wouldn't have liked to have bought it new and lost the £50k the first owner has, got it through a trade dealer friend of mine so got a good price
  20. Try city insurance group. I've worked in insurance (including motor) for nearly 30 years and I don't entirely agree with it. However 'the stats' show that those involved in a non fault accident are something like 3x more likely to have a fault accident than those that haven't. So the stats back it up but as I once said to a narky underwriter (reinsurer) I suspect if we recorded peoples hair colour then one group would come out more likely to make a claim than others...... stats are OK but they are taking it too far.
  21. http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/acatalog/non_air_bag_steering_wheels_porsche_momo.html I think confirms my point, the CS wheel OE is all black with embossed horn push as per the above link, the one with Porsche badge is a copy although yes they do refer to as a CS Wheel. You'll also see Design911 sell similar and many other places.
  22. Not wishing to spoil anyone's for sale thread but thats not a Club Sport wheel I don't think which the OP and buyer may not realise. The CS Wheel had an embossed horn push and the leather was all one piece that meat in the middle of the bottom spoke. As an example. Those with the badge and separate leather on the spokes are a copy and often referred to as RS. Nothing wrong with that of course and even the copies are circa £310 new and original will set you back £400 new.
  23. I had those exact same wheels on an 87 Audi 80......
